The County of Middlesex operates on the fiscal year of July 1 to June 30. The County Administrator is responsible for preparing and presenting the annual budget to the Board of Supervisors. Budget requests are sent to all departments in December of each year.
The Board of Supervisors normally adopts the county budget at their first meeting in April. Public Hearings are held prior to the adoption of the budget.
Middlesex County collects real estate taxes twice a year, (June 5th and December 5th) which requires that tax tickets be ready for mailing by the first week of May.
